Ferozepur, July 10
The Ferozepur police have arrested 16 persons for drug peddling in separate cases.
Senior Superintendent of Police Charanjit Singh said Sagar and Dimple, alias Mintu, were arrested following the seizure of 500 intoxicating tablets from them. Cops seized 40 grams of heroin from Vicky, a resident of Basti Awan.
In Makhu, Lovepreet Singh, alias Love, Ranjit Singh, alias Rana, and Lovepreet Singh were held following the seizure of 120 grams of heroin. Besides, the CIA sleuths seized 140-gm heroin and 250 grams of opium from Gauravpreet Singh, alias Gora.
Cops nabbed Mandeep Singh, alias Tinka, under the jurisdiction of Kulgarhi police station and seized 984 intoxicating tablets and Rs 31, 500 drug money. Ajay was also arrested in Kulgarhi following the recovery of 140 grams of heroin.
Jagmeet Singh and Hansa Singh were arrested with 20-Kg poppy husk in Guruharsahai which they had brought from Rajasthan.
A person was arrested from the cantonment area and 10 grams of heroin was recovered from him. Balkar Singh and Pargat Singh were arrested following the seizure of 40-gm heroin under the jurisdiction of Ghallkhurd police station. Cops seized 50-gm heroin from the possession of Gursahib Singh, a resident of Muthianwala village. The accused have been booked under the NDPS Act.
