Mansa, June 13
Close on the heels of Sidhu Moosewala’s murder, Mansa traders have started receiving extortion calls from suspects claiming to be linked to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
The traders today held a meeting over the issue, wherein Mansa SSP Gaurav Toora assured them of ensuring their safety. He urged people to cooperate with the cops and alert the nearest police station as soon as they received such calls to ensure prompt arrest of the culprits.
Jeevan Mirpuria from the Chamber of Commerce said after the singer’s assassination, some locals had started receiving threat calls. Three cases have been reported, in which Rs 2 lakh, Rs 5 lakh and Rs 70,000 had been demanded from traders.
