Chandigarh, September 8
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has claimed that around 4.5 lakh cases were pending before it and not seven lakh, as reflected earlier on the National Judicial Data Grid due to a software mismatch.
High Court Registrar (Vigilance)-cum-PRO Vikram Aggarwal said the earlier figure of seven lakh was due to a mismatch between “Case Information System” and “Integrated Software for High Court”. As a result, the disposal of cases was not being reflected on the NJDG.
“The requisite data synchronisation has been done. The current pendency is around 4.5 lakh cases. This figure is expected to come down further once the softwares are fully synchronised,” the Registrar said. — TNS
