Amritsar, February 11
The Counter-Intelligence (CI) today produced alleged Khalistani operative Jagdev Singh in a local court, which remanded him in four-day police custody. He was arrested from Lucknow on Tuesday.
Jagdev was arrested following preliminary interrogation of his accomplice Jagroop Singh, who was arrested from Rampur Cheeta village on Sunday. The Punjab Police had recovered five country-made weapons from him.
A CI official said the police had also brought Baljit Singh, an accomplice of Jagdev, on production warrant from the Amritsar Central Jail. Both were nabbed for allegedly possessing illegal weapons in 2019.
On Wednesday, the CI had brought notorious gangster Jasbir Singh, alias Jasbir Anngarihya, on production warrant in the case. Jasbir faced 30 criminal cases, including attempt to murder, robbery and under the NDPS Act. Their arrest also brought forth the fact that anti-national forces in Pakistan were using notorious criminals and smugglers for carrying out nefarious activities. — TNS
