Muktsar: The Malout city police claimed to have arrested five persons with 20-gm heroin and Rs 22,000 drug money. Those arrested have been identified as Rachpal Singh, Sewak Singh, Manphool Singh, Dharamvir Singh and Husanpreet Singh of Muktsar and Tarn Taran districts. The police said they were arrested on Tuesday. A case under various sections of the NDPS Act has been registered against them. TNS

Millers meet Union Minister

Chandigarh: Representatives of the Punjab Rice Industry Association, led by Bharat Bhushan Binta, on Wednesday met the Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and highlighted their concerns about the custom milling of paddy for the upcoming season.
