The Goraya police on Sunday busted an inter-district gang of robbers and arrested its six members.
SP (Detective) Sarabjit Bahia told The Tribune here on Monday that the police have seized two pistols (7.65mm), three magazines, 12 live cartridges, a 32-bore revolver with two live cartridges, a 315-bore country-made pistol, six smart mobile phones, a Pulsar motorcycle, a Magestro scooter and two sharp-edged weapons (Gandasi and Khanda) from the arrested gang members.
The arrested men were identified as Vishal Bassi, Jatinder Singh, Manveer Singh, Surinder Singh and Parjan Kumar- all residents of Panchhat village in Phagwara sub-division and one Anup Bangar, a resident of Chachrari village near Goraya.
Phillaur DSP Jagdish Raj said a case under Section 115 of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act was registered against them.
