Muktsar, October 2
An eight-year-old girl died due to dengue in Malout town on Friday night. The deceased, Ishkirat Kaur, a resident of Seth Indrabhan Street, tested dengue positive on September 30. She was running fever for the past few days.
A Health Department team had found dengue larvae in the water tank in her house. Taking preventive measures, the team had sprayed insecticide in her house as well.
Meanwhile, the girl’s death has spread panic among the locals. Her father is a teacher.
Notably, as of now 425 dengue patients have been detected in Muktsar district. Of these, 137 are from Malout town. — TNS
