Fazilka District Youth Congress president Rupinder Singh Ruby Gill had a narrow escape after some unidentified persons opened fire on his car around 11 pm on Sunday.
Gill said he along with his four companions were returning to Kandhwala Hazarkhan village from Fazilka on Sunday night. As he reached near his village, some unidentified persons started indiscriminate firing at his Innova car in which he was travelling.
The rear windscreen and side glasses of the car were shattered and he sustained minor injuries on his left arm.
Gill said he could not spot the assailants as they opened fire from behind the heap of mud lying on the roadside on the link road, about 2 km from the village. Unidentified persons have been booked under Sections 307, 427 and 34 of the IPC and Sections 25, 27 and 59 of the Arms Act.
