The district disaster management authority has launched a web portal to enable real-time monitoring of road restoration works being undertaken with disaster management funds following damage caused by floods, landslips and other natural calamities.

The portal has been designed to address the lack of a unified system to track the progress of works, from granting of administrative sanction to release of payments to contractors. The portal enables real-time tracking of 12 stages of a project, from administrative sanction to bill payment. It features an integrated dashboard, filters, reports and document management facilities, allowing stakeholders to monitor the status of works at different stages.

Legislators will also be able to directly track the progress of works being carried out in their respective constituencies. The portal has a four-tier secure login system for executing agencies, MLAs, super administrators and administrators.

For transparency

The model, aimed at improving transparency and speeding up the implementation of disaster-related works, was developed by Ajith Sreenivasan, junior superintendent with the disaster management section at the Collectorate.

Meanwhile, the Keralam Legislative Assembly’s Committee on Environment (2026-29) will hold a meeting at the Collectorate conference hall on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to hear submissions on environmental issues, particularly those arising from the recent monsoon-related disasters in the district.

District-level officers of concerned departments, environmental activists and members of the public will be invited to depose before the committee. The public can directly submit complaints and representations to the panel between 10a.m. and 11 a.m.

The committee will also receive petitions from individuals and organisations on environmental issues before visiting flood-affected areas in the district.
