A Nihang on Thursday allegedly assaulted a labourer at Singhu border for refusing to give him a hen from a poultry farm that he worked in.

The Kundli Police nabbed the Nihang Sikh after people caught him and took him into custody.

The injured labourer has been identified as Manoj Paswan of Bihar. He was the rooster supplier and worked in that poultry farm at Kundli for the past 15-16 years.

He alleged that on Thursday he took roosters on his rickshaw for supply in the villages nearby.

Meanwhile, the Nihang Sikh demanded the hen from him. He alleged that when he refused, he was beaten up with a ‘lathi’ by the Nihang Sikh.

The people at Singhu Border caught the Nihang Sikh and he was identified as the member of Baba Aman Singh’s Dal.

The Nihang Sikh is a resident of Gagsina village in Karnal.

Farmers leader Jagdeep Aulakh, in a video message, said that he knew the Nihang Sikh and claimed that he was associated with the farmers’ protest for the past one year. Aulkah said it was a person fight between two people and the incident should not be linked to the farmers protest.

A case has been registered on the complaint of the victim and the Nihang Sikh has been arrested.
