A local court today dismissed the bail application of Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira in an alleged money laundering case.

On December 3, the court had reserved its decision on his bail application till December 7. Khaira is currently in judicial custody at the Central Jail, Patiala. The court had extended Khaira’s judicial remand till December 16 earlier.

On November 18, the former Leader of Opposition was sent to a 14-day judicial custody after completing seven days of Enforcement Directorate (ED) remand in the money laundering case.

The ED arrested Khaira on November 11 in connection with a money-laundering probe linked to a drug racket after he “evaded some questions” put up by investigators, officials had said.
