Deputy Chief Minister OP Soni said the state government was mulling over regularising contractual employees hired under different central schemes. He said a meeting in this regard would be held on coming Tuesday.
Soni, who came to inaugurate a radio diagnostic facility at the Ropar Civil Hospital, said the state government has already decided to regularise jobs of 36,000 contractual employees (those who have completed 10 years) working in different departments.
Replying to a query, Soni said the government was also looking to regularise contractual workers (with more than 10 years of experience) working under different central schemes.
He said the CT Scan machine has been set up at a cost of Rs 2.25 crore under the public-private partnership at the Ropar Civil Hospital to provide the required test facilities to pateints at low rates. The Radio Diagnostic Project was launched in Punjab at a cost of around Rs 100 crore, he said. — TNS
