Sangrur, June 12
Citing protests by various organisations across the state, senior BJP leaders on Saturday alleged the AAP government had lost the trust of Punjab residents within months of its rule. They accused the government of not fulfilling its poll promises and claimed law and order had taken a turn for the worse in the state.
“Before elections, AAP leaders had promised jobs to all unemployed youths and regularisation of services to contract staff. But after the formation of their government, AAP leaders have forgotten all promises. There is no visible action to give jobs while a majority of contract staff has started protests,” said Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, BJP incharge of the bypoll. Sodhi, flanked by BJP state general secretaries Jeevan Gupta and Dyal Sodhi and state chief spokesperson Anil Sarneen, alleged crime had gone up in the state as the authorities had failed to take effective steps. “Residents are aware how things are taking the turn for worse in Punjab. They should vote for the BJP in the Sangrur bypoll to teach the state government a lesson,” said Sodhi. — TNS
