Chandigarh, July 7
A day after arresting Faridkot DSP Lakhvir Singh in a corruption case, the Punjab Police today transferred the case to the Punjab Vigilance Bureau for further investigation.
In judicial remand
Tarn Taran: The DSP was produced in a court of Patti SDJM Sandeep Garg on Thursday, which sent him to judicial remand. The court ordered to produce Lakhbir Singh on July 20, the next date of hearing. OC
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said they had decided to hand over the case to the Vigilance Bureau since it was a special investigation agency for probing corruption cases.
The DSP was arrested by the Tarn Taran police yesterday for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from a drug supplier for not nominating him in an FIR registered under the NDPS Act in Tarn Taran. — TNS
