Former Punjab Speaker Rana KP Singh has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and demanded that new Vidhan Sabha building of Haryana should be constructed outside Chandigarh.

“There are many long-standing issues of this border state, which have not been addressed. This has hurt sentiments of Punjabis,” Rana wrote in the letter.

“The Central Government’s stamp on the demand for a new Assembly building for Haryana in Chandigarh will only deepen the long-pending disputes between the two states. This will send a wrong message to Punjab,” he stated.
