Implement Swaminathan panel report: Harsimrat
New Delhi, August 2
Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Tuesday demanded implementation of the Swaminathan committee report by ensuring 50 per cent profit on the total cost of the crop and legalising minimum support price besides reducing petroleum and cooking gas rates.
Participating in the discussion on price rise in Parliament, Harsimrat took on the NDA government for playing politics on this issue.
“The country has witnessed a 100 per cent increase in the prices of diesel, fertiliser and pesticides in the last eight years. In a stark contrast, farmers have been given a 2 per cent increase in MSP,” said the MP.
