PPSC strength cut from 10 to 5

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has approved reduction of members of the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) from the existing 10 to five.
A press release said that at present, PPSC had 10 members. It was felt that the commission could function effectively with half the strength and the government would save on account of the salaries, perks and other emoluments of the members.
CM Mann said the official notification after the reduction would be issued once the number of existing members comes to five after the completion of the term of certain members. He said that in the coming days, more such decisions would be taken in larger public interest.
