A 25-year-old youth has allegedly been found murdered at Mehmewala road in the Moga on Thursday morning.
The semi-mutilated body of the deceased was found from a sewerage drain, the local police officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Amandeep Singh, a resident of Mehna village.
The family of the youth stated that Amandeep went missing from home for the past four days and his missing report was lodged with the local police.
The family gathered outside the police station City-II and demanded a fair probe and arrest of the culprits who were involved in the gruesome murder.
The police officials stated that the youth was brutally murdered with sticks and sharp-edged weapons. There were no bullet injury marks on the body.
The police took the body into custody and sent it to the district hospital at Moga for post-mortem examination, the officials added.
Meanwhile, a criminal case of murder has been registered against unknown persons at the City-II police station, here.
Investigations were in progress, said police.
