AAP begins campaign in Punjab

Chandigarh, February 5

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday launched its campaign with the slogan ‘Saareyan nu ajmaya, saareyan ni ditta dhoka, hun jhadoo waleyan nu devangey mauka’, for the MC poll.

On the occasion, senior AAP leader and Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema and party MLAs Jagtar Singh Jagga Hissowal, Principal Budh Ram, Rupinder Kaur Ruby, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer and Baldev Singh Jaito released a song.

In a statement from the AAP headquarters, Cheema said the campaign was started by sweeping with the party’s symbol broom by the candidates and office-bearers.

He said the volunteers would take a pledge to clean up the filth of corruption. “Sanitation in cities is deteriorating day by day and there is no provision of CCTV cameras to curb crime. The SAD-BJP and the Congress have worked to fill up their coffers. However, the AAP is now offering change to the public, so that those who work for them are elected.” — TNS
