Abohar youth dies of drug overdose
Abohar, August 7
A youth in Bhagu village died of drug overdose last night. This is the third death due to drug overdose in the area in the past few weeks.
The deceased, identified as Vicky, had been an addict for some time according to his brother, Manohar Lal. During his treatment at a de-addiction centre in Sadulshehar, 31 km from here, he came in contact with Lovepreet Singh of Dhippanwali village.
Both of them went out at noon yesterday and Vicky’s family got a call at night, informing them of his unconscious state and location (Dhippanwali link road). He was brought to the government hospital Abohar, where he died.
Lovepreet Singh has been booked under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code, said Ravinder Sharma, Wahabwala Police station in-charge.
