Amritsar, October 11
Showing solidarity with the farmers’ cause, former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala today said it was the struggle of the entire country and that the Centre should accept their demands.
Chautala was speaking after paying obeisance at the Golden Temple, where he was felicitated by SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur. Chautala said he prayed for those who had laid down their lives during the course of the agitation against the three laws. “I pray for the success of their agitation,” he said. The SGPC presented him with a ‘siropao’, a golden model of the shrine and Sikh literature. — TNS
