The Punjab Police have scrapped the examination conducted to fill 560 posts of sub-inspector (SI). The common computer-based tests to recruit SIs in four cadres/wings (Investigation, District, Armed Police and Intelligence) were held from August 17 to 24 at different centres in the state.

A report in this regard was received by the DGP’s office on September 27 and the DGP on October 2 gave approval to the board recommendations.

The spokesperson said on the basis of complaints regarding cheating and malpractices, the police have already registered three FIRs, including in SAS Nagar, Patiala and Khanna districts.
