Morinda, January 4
In continuation with his announcements regarding the increase in the wages for contractual workers, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi declared an increase of Rs 1,400 in the monthly honorarium of anganwadi workers here today. Now, the anganwadi workers who were getting Rs 8,100 will receive Rs 9,500 per month.
Workers at mini anganwadis will get Rs 1,000 more, taking their total honorarium to Rs 6,300. The helpers at angwanwadis will also get an increased honourarium of Rs 5,100 from Rs 4,000. There are nearly 53,000 workers in anganwadis across the state.
Besides, anganwadi workers will be entitled to an annual increment of Rs 500 while the remaining two categories of workers will get an increment of Rs 250 from January 1, 2023.
Addressing a gathering of anganwadi workers here, Channi said the notification in this regard had already been issued and the increase in wages would be effective from January 2022. — TNS
