Bathinda resident held for threatening police official

Bathinda, July 2

A man has been arrested for threatening to kill a head constable posted in Counter-Intelligence Wing of the police through text messages and WhatsApp calls. The arrested person has been identified as Sandeep Singh, a resident of Bangi Nihal Singh Wala village.

According to information, Head Constable Gurjit Singh, posted in Counter-Intelligence Wing, Bathinda, lodged a complaint with the Civil Lines police station, claiming that he had on June 29 received a threatening message from a virtual number. Later, he received a WhatsApp call from the same number.

After probe, it was found that the number was of Sandeep Singh. The police have arrested Sandeep and registered a case against him at the Civil Lines police station. The police have also taken custody of the accused for further probe.
