Bathinda’s Mrinal Garg brings laurels for Punjab; Tops JEE Main 2022 Session 1 with perfect 300/300

Bringing laurels to the city and state, Mrinal Garg, a student of Saint Kabir Convent Senior Secondary School, Bathinda, has secured top rank in the JEE Mains Session 1 competitive exam by scoring a perfect 300/300 marks. The results for the competitive exam were declared on Monday.

Talking to The Tribune, his father Charanjit Garg said, “It is a proud moment not for us or city but for the entire state that Mrinal has secured top rank in the JEE Mains entrance exam. He was studious since childhood and worked really hard to get the top position and achieving yet another milestone in his life.”

Mrinal’s father is into the business of surgical equipment and his mother Renu Bala is a homemaker.

Charanjit Garg further added, “Mrinal always scored good marks in school. He topped the tenth class by securing 97 per cent marks at Saint Joseph School in Bathinda. Later, he joined the non-medical stream at Saint Kabir School in the city. He also attended coaching classes for IIT at Sri Chaitanya Coaching Institute in Chandigarh.”

Mrinal drew his inspiration for pursuing academics seriously from his elder brother Bhartesh Garg, who is a final year MBBS student of All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), Jodhpur.
