Gurdaspur, July 21
Gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria was presented before a court today, which sent him to six-day police custody. He was handed over to the Kalanaur police. Cops had made elaborate security arrangements at the judicial complex.
An officer disclosed that Bhagwanpuria was wanted in a case related to a clash between the BSF jawans and Pakistan-based smugglers at the International Border on January 29. The cops had recovered 47 kg of heroin, two pistols and seven packets of opium.
The incident occurred near Chandu Wadala check post of the BSF. A jawan had received injuries in the incident.
