Chandigarh, October 28
Student Organisation of India former president and once a close associate of Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia, Parminder Singh Brar today joined the Congress in presence of AICC general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal in New Delhi.
Brar, a former OSD to former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, headed the IT wing of the SAD and was instrumental in party’s campaigns in previous elections. After being refused the ticket, he left the party. His joining has evoked mix reaction in the Congress, with some leaders stating his only asset was that he was once close to Majithia. — TNS
