Gurdaspur, December 3
Dubai-based construction magnate Dr Surinder Pal Singh Oberoi today declined Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s offer to appoint him as honorary adviser (health and skill development), saying neither he nor his charitable organisation — Sarbat Da Bhala — engaged in any political activities.
Oberoi admitted he had met the Chief Minister last week and urged him to let his organisation play a role in the upgrade of industrial training institutes (ITIs) and improving health infrastructure across the state.
He added he had been doing charity for the past 11 years and would continue to serve the poor and needy.
