British MP Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi pro-Khalistan: BJP

Jalandhar, April 12

Even as the farm unions have been honouring UK MP Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi since his current visit to Punjab for his massive support during their stir against the agri laws, the state unit of the BJP has been calling him “pro-Khalistani” and “anti-nationalist”.

Commenting on the Slough Labour MP, Subhash Sharma, state general secretary, BJP, said, “Dhesi rakes up the issues which bring a bad name to India, be it anything related to Kashmir, Pakistan or Khalistan. We all know that he has been giving adverse comments against India . He also had close ties with Khalistani groups.”

According to media reports, Dhesi attacked India at the Referendum 2020 rally in London, a pro-Khalistan movement, organised by the banned terrorist outfit Sikhs for Justice. Dhesi, however, termed the allegations to be a part of the campaign to stop his entry in Punjab and malign the Sikh community in general. —
