BSP rebels in touch: SAD (A)

Fatehgarh Sahib, September 10

The SAD(A) will contest all 117 Assembly seats and hold a convention on September 18 at Amritsar to chalk out a strategy for the SGPC elections.

The decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of the political affairs committee of the party held at Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib today. All members of the PAC and district jathedars participated in the meeting. SAD (A) chief spokesman Iqbal Singh Tiwana said the party decided to support the SKM’s Bharat bandh call on September 27.

He said a group of BSP workers opposed to the alliance with SAD (B) had approached them for a tie-up in Doaba. He said the SAD (A) would hold a convention on September 18 at Amritsar to chalk out a strategy for the SGPC polls. He alleged the Badal family had taken the SGPC’s control as all major appointments were being made at its behest. — TNS
