Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa today inaugurated the Rs 47 crore state-of-the-art Guru Nanak Dev Sugarcane Research and Development Institute here today.
The project has been modelled on one of Asia’s premier institutes, the Pune-based Vasantdada Sugarcane Institute. Officials said the project would create jobs for unemployed youth of the border district. — TNS
