Chandigarh, October 25
Former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Monday hit out at his detractors who had been targeting his Pakistan friend Aroosa Alam.
PCC Ex-president alludes to Czar
In a tweet, former PCC chief Sunil Jakhar tweeted: “It wasn’t Czarina or her nationality! It was corrupt/scandalous Rasputin wielding influence through her which led to an end of Czar Nicolas’ rule. Pray, beware of the Punjabi Rasputin(s), who seem not quiet done with ‘their liege’ yet, and are still digging deeper for him.”
Posting as many as 14 file pictures of Alam on his Facebook page with various dignitaries, including Sonia Gandhi, former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj, UP ex-CM Mulayam Singh Yadav, former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha, former Union minister Shatrughan Sinha, besides others, Captain Amarinder said: “I suppose they are all also contacts of the ISI. Those who say so should think before speaking.”
Going a step further, he said: “Unfortunately visas are banned at the moment between India and Pakistan. Otherwise I would invite her again.” Seeking to put to rest the controversy, he said: “I am going to be 80 in March and Mrs Alam 69 next year. Narrow mindedness seems to be order of the day.” — TNS
