Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Kejriwal discuss governance

Chandigarh, July 25

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today reportedly discussed various issues concerning governance in Punjab with AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal.

Though there was no official confirmation, sources said the duo held a closed-door meeting for almost an hour. None of the state ministers met Kejriwal. Recent changes in the state administration and the status of implementation of the welfare schemes announced by the government, based on the poll promises made by Aam Aadmi Party, were also reportedly discussed.

Meanwhile, official sources said the notification, appointing party Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha as a member of the temporary advisory committee, would be issued shortly. The recent judgment of the Punjab and Haryana HC in the case of the former Chief Principal Secretary in Capt Amarinder Singh’s government had paved the way for removing all legal hurdles in the appointment, said a senior officer. — TNS
