On the directives of Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Vijay Kumar Janjua, Additional Chief Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development, on Wednesday conducted a check in the departments at Livestock Complex, Sector 68, Mohali.
Directors of all three departments, including Dr HS Kahlon, Director, Animal Husbandry Department, accompanied Janjua during the checking.
An official spokesperson of the government said during the checking, a few officers and employees were found absent from duty. Taking a serious note, Janjua issued directions to all to ensure punctuality in their offices and seek explanation from all absentees. He also directed the directors to conduct routine checkings.
He also directed the departments to digitise the office record and send official files through e-office.
Meanhwile, during a surprise visit at the Nurpur Bedi Block Development and Panchayat Office by Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amarjit Singh Sandoa, a large number of officials, including block development and panchayat officer (BDPO), superintendent and junior engineer, were found absent today. Sandoa alleged the BDPO was a habitual latecomer.
The MLA said he reached the office at 9 am only to found that many officials, including BDPO Harvinder Kaur, hadn’t reached the office. Claiming he stayed there for half an hour, Sandoa said the BDPO failed to reach there till he left the office. Harvinder Kaur denied any misconduct on her part, saying she had reached the office before 9 am and after marking her attendance, she went to Khad Bhathlore village where local residents had complained of losses to their homes due to recent rains.
