Reaching out to the family of Sepoy Kuldeep Singh, who had laid down his life on the Indo-China border on July 10, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today handed over a cheque for Rs 95 lakh to his family members at Lohke Kalan village.

Mann said, “Kuldeep Singh of the 21 Sikh Regiment made a supreme sacrifice. The state government salutes the braveheart.”

The Chief Minister said his government would always support the family. “I assure the aggrieved family that the state government is duty bound to assist them in this hour of crisis and every step will be taken to extend a helping hand to them. I understand it’s a colossal loss, but instead of grieving his demise, we must feel proud as he has laid down his life for a greater cause,” he said.

“I am overwhelmed to know that more than 20 youngsters from this village are in the Indian Army. I hope this financial assistance will help the family members and the child to study further,” said Mann.

Notably, Cabinet Minister Fauja Singh Sarari had handed over a cheque for Rs 5 lakh to the family members on July 19.
