Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today asked the Congress high command to reveal the party’s face for the upcoming polls even as he asserted that it could not hide its failures with a change of the CM.
He was addressing a press conference here after welcoming senior Congressman Jagdev Singh Boparai into the SAD fold. Boparai, who joined the SAD along with his entire team belonging to the Payal Assembly constituency, said he had become totally disillusioned with the Congress, which was only interested in looting people.
On the Congress face, Sukhbir said: “First the high command announced one name, but when someone objected, it announced two names. Soon there may be three leaders who will be given this assignment. Punjabis want to know who is the real leader because earlier also, during the fight for the top post, the first choice was someone else, but photos of the second choice were released even as the final choice emerged at the end.”
He said all this had proved that the fight in the Congress had nothing to do with any public issue, but was a fight for the top post. “While the outgoing leadership looted the state, the incoming one wants to do the same in the next three months.”
