Days after quitting , Razia attends meet

Chandigarh, October 11

Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Razia Sultana, who had resigned from the government on September 28, attended the Cabinet meeting today.

Sources in the CMO said the minister had on October 4 even signed the department agenda item on waiving dues of rural water supply. But a discussion on all agenda items was deferred that day in the wake of the Lakhimpur Kheri incident. Sultana had put in her papers hours after Navjot Singh Sidhu quit as PCC chief. Sultana had said she was quitting “in solidarity with Sidhu”.

A party leader said: “Both Sidhu and Sultana announced their resignations on the social media. Both are back to work without any clarification from the party high command regarding their resignations. The issues on which they resigned are still there. They must clarify,” said a senior leader. — TNS
