Challenging security agencies, Lakha Sidhana, who is on the run in the January 26 violence case registered by Delhi Police, on Tuesday reached the farmers’ rally at Mehraj village in this district.

Sidhana urged people not to allow anyone to arrest youths in connection with the January 26 Red Fort events.

He was seated on the stage and addressed the gathering. Organisers on the stage dared the police to arrest Sidhana.

Sidhana asked villagers to arrest any police personnel attempting to arrest these youths.

He said that the Union government was arresting people of Punjab and announcing rewards for aiding with their arrest.

Sidhana said: “Gal fasla di nhi hai, nasala di hai”.

He appealed to the Dalit community to participate in the protest in large numbers. After the rally, Sidhana ran away on a motorcycle from the spot.

Earlier, grandfather of farmer Navreet Singh, who had died in New Delhi on January 26, and the kin of Harbhagwan Singh, who had died in the Behbal Kalan firing, also reached the rally.

Also present there were AAP MLA Kultar Singh Sandhawa and Yudhvir Manak, son of Punjabi singer Kuldeep Manak.
