Barnala, October 11
The Barnala district administration has penalised 51 owners of those properties where dengue larvae was found.
As per information, a survey of 37,385 spots has been conducted in the district so far. The larvae was detected at 149 houses and public places.
Barnala Deputy Commissioner Kumar Sourabh Raj said, “Our teams are trying to convince residents to keep their surroundings clean.”
Sub-Divisonal Magistrate Varjeet Walia said 33 challans have been issued from July 1 onwards in Barnala nagar council. Walia said seven challans in Bhadaur nagar council and 11 challans in Tapa nagar council were issued recently.
In Tapa, larvae was found at home of a dengue patient, in an abandoned truck tyre.
In Barnala, 11 patients tested positive for dengue. Of them, nine have been treated, while two were still undergoing treatment. — TNS
