Don’t make false poll promises: Randhawa

Fatehgarh Sahib, September 15

Minister for Co-operation and Jails Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa today cautioned political leaders to stop making false promises before elections as it not only tarnishes their image but also leads to loss of public trust.

When asked whether he was targeting the CM, Randhawa said he was talking of all politicians.

Interacting with the media, he endorsed the statement of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh that the farmers should agitate in Delhi and Haryana as the fight of the farmers was against the union government. They should take their protest to the Delhi borders instead of agitating in the state as the government was supporting them wholeheartedly, he said.

Randhawa had come here to preside over a state-level function of disbursement of loans organised by Punjab State Cooperative Agricultural Development Bank (PADB). He also honoured those persons who were depositing instalments in time. — OC
