Dr Raj Bahadur row: Such things happen during work, situation could have been handled better, says Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann

Chandigarh, July 30

With Punjab Health Minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra under fire over his ‘rude’ behaviour with BFUHS Vice Chancellor Dr Raj Bahadur, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said sometimes such things happen during work but the situation could have been handled better.

Talking to mediapersons on the issue, the Chief Minister said he had personally known Dr Raj Bahadur for the past several years when he was the principal at GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh, and held him in high regard. “Dr Raj Bahadur had treated my father who had suffered a spinal injury. He is my dear friend,” said Bhagwant Mann.

He, however, claimed that during work, sometimes such confrontation do happen. “But, the situation could have been handles in a better way,” the CM added.

The CM also commented on the issue of gangsters. He said the gangsters, terrorists and drug dealers have now come together and are working in tandem. Along with drugs, they are also supplying illegal weapons. “They have created an inter-state network. Some are caught from Saharanpur, some from Rajasthan, some from Gujarat. All states need to rise above political considerations and tackle the situation instead of getting into a credit war as to who has caught how many. All agencies need to come together to save the youth, who have taken the wrong path due to stress, frustration or unemployment.”
