Two constables of the Excise Department suffered injuries after some bootleggers allegedly assaulted the team, which went to a border village to seize illicit liquor.
Investigating Officer Iqbal Singh said acting on a tip-off, the team led by Excise Inspector Harmit Singhconducted a raid at the resident of Pala Singh of Mahatam Nagar. After seeing the police, Harjinder Singh, son of Pala tried to flee, but was nabbed by the police. The Inspector alleged that some persons attacked his team. The injured constables have been as Pardeep and Arvind. — OC
