Congress president Rahul Gandhi demanded compensation for the family of the farmers who died during the farmer protests that began in November 2020 and lasted a year.
“A question was asked in Parliament whether the government proposes to provide financial assistance to the kin of farmers who died during the farmers’ agitation. The Ministry of Agriculture says it has no record in the matter and hence the question doesn’t arise,” Gandhi said at a press conference on Saturday.
The Punjab government has identified 403 people, he said at the press conference.
