Acceding to the appeal made by Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, farmers have postponed the proposed agitation.
The Deputy CM had held a detailed discussion with farmers on Wednesday. He had reiterated the commitment of the government to safeguard the interests of farmers.
They have postponed the agitation till October 30 subject to a review meeting with the CM. Randhawa assured them that some pending issues would be resolved soon and a meeting with the CM would also be materialised soon.
Demands accepted
The govt has agreed to most of their demands, including the withdrawal of 60 of the 105 cases and the rest will also be withdrawn soon as those were registered by the Railway Police. —Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, DY CM
