Traders of Fazilka have decided to go on strike to express their solidarity with farm unions, which have called for ‘Bharat bandh’ on September 27.
The Beopar Mandal, Fazilka, today convened a special meeting and unanimously resolved to stand by the farming community against the three agricultural laws by shutting their shops on September 27 till 4 pm. However, the chemist shops will remain open.
Mandal president Ashok Gulbadhar said shopkeepers had been allowed to open their shop on Sunday, keeping in view the strike on Monday. Representatives of the farmer organisations under the umbrella of Samyukt Kisan Morcha are making all efforts to make the event a success and they have also approached the traders to for their support.
