Chandigarh, September 10
Extending the existing Covid restrictions till September 30, the Punjab Government today said its employees who failed to take even the first vaccine dose till September 15 would be compulsorily sent on leave.

Chairing a review meeting here today, CM Capt Amarinder Singh announced several measures, including limiting the gatherings — political, religious or others — to 300.
It will be mandatory for organisers to ensure that participants, management and staff at food stalls in festival-related or other events are fully vaccinated or at least have had the first dose. The CM allowed teaching and non-teaching school staff who have taken at least one dose of vaccine more than four weeks ago to resume duties, subject to submission of weekly RT-PCR negative test reports. Those with comorbid conditions shall be allowed only after they are fully vaccinated.
The CM said the situation in schools had remained under control. Calling for continued vigil during festivals, he urged political parties to lead by example, while directing the DGP to ensure compliance of restrictions. — TNS
