Sangrur, April 18
A girl student was killed and three others critically injured on Monday after they were hit by a PRTC bus while crossing a road at Mehla Chowk in Sangrur.
The deceased has been identified as Amandeep Kaur. The three injured were taken to Sangrur civil hospital.
As per information, the students were crossing the road when the bus coming from Patran side reportedly hit them.
Sangrur SSP Mandeep Sidhu said police team have started investigations.
Finance minister Harpal Cheema said the Punjab government has announced Rs 2 lakh for the family of the deceased and free treatment for the injured.
“Devastated on hearing the heartbreaking news about the road accident involving children at Mehlan Chowk in Dirba. May almighty provide strength to the families. Punjab government has announced 2 lakhs for the family of the deceased and free treatment for the injured,” Cheema tweeted.
