Moga, July 13
A vigilant security guard prevented a bank robbery at an IndusInd Bank branch in Darapur village in Moga district. Three robbers, who came on a motorcycle, thrashed the guard and injured him. However, he single-handedly fought them and fired a shot from his .12 bore gun into the air to prevent them from entering the bank. The robbers fled from the spot.
The guard, Sukhmandar Singh, was attacked with a sharp weapon, which left him injured on his arm, but he did not let robbers enter the bank. He even chased them, but they fled on a motorcycle.
Sukhmandar told the police that the youths, who had their faces covered, came on a motorcycle. Suspecting them to be robbers, he asked them to unmask their faces, but they attacked him. The entire incident was caught on the CCTV camera. A case has been registered.
