Jalandhar, April 16
The bail application filed by former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s nephew Bhupinder Singh Honey and his aide Kudratdeep Singh, alias Lovie, in the special PMLA court in Jalandhar has been adjourned to April 20.
After a chargesheet was filed by the Enforcement Directorate against both about two weeks ago, Honey, who is lodged in Kapurthala jail, and Kudratdeep had filed the bail application, which was heard today in the court of District and Sessions Judge Rupinderjit Chahal.
The Special Public Prosecutor who appeared on behalf of the ED requested for adjournment. On his request, the case has been adjourned for filing reply and for consideration on April 20.
Channi too had appeared before the ED on April 13 in Jalandhar and was quizzed over his alleged links in sand mining business. —
