The state Congress has sought resignation of Punjab Health Minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra for humiliating Dr Raj Bahadur, Vice-Chancellor, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. Himachal Congress vice-president and former Lok Sabha MP Chander Kumar said here today Dr Bahadur — an eminent spine surgeon of the country hailing from Una district — is a pride of Himachal Pradesh.
Kumar said the misconduct of Punjab Health Minister was unpardonable and besides tendering an apology to Dr Bahadur he should also resign from the Cabinet. “If he doesn’t quit, Punjab Chief Minister should sack him from the Cabinet for the dignity of the medical fraternity,” he said. He also appealed to the medical fraternity to come forward to uphold the dignity of the VC, who had submitted his resignation from the University yesterday.
